Noticing that when we fitted 35" tires to our truck, we could not fit a full size spare in the factory location. We were determined to find an efficient storage location for a full size spare. After a lot of trial and error, we found the most suitable and least invasive location was in the bed against the cab.(Especially since our truck has the digital rear view mirror). We also found that mounting anything to the plastic bed was not ideal. This created the idea of a low profile bed rack that could hold the spare and 2 very important off road accessories. The Hi-Lift Jack and a set of traction boards. We wanted to make sure the bed was still open and functional as a cargo carrier, so the design allowed us to utilize the perimeter of the bed and keep the center section open.
